The focus of the studio was to explore various attributes, materials, methods, and occupancy types of what constitutes affordable housing in Northside and to produce quality design options for NEST to utilize. NEST requested that the designs be accessible to anyone, affordable, and that they fit in with both the unique nature of the surrounding architecture and the welcoming feel of the neighborhood. The design schemes must be sustainable and able to adapt between the corner and infill lot types.
